How far will you travel?
We mainly service Fairfield and Westchester Counties. We will travel further depending on availability and size of event.


What is your minimum number of guests?

In Season; April-October and the month of December, we consider parties of 25 or more Monday-Thursday. Friday through Sunday, our minimum is 75 guests. Off Season; November-March, minimum is based on availability.

How long have you been in business?
Outdoor Cookers has been in business since 1985.

Who is the owner?
Michael Gilmartin has been the owner since 1985.

Are you insured?
Yes. We have One Million Liability Coverage, Workers' Compensation Insurance, and One Million dollars in Umbrella Coverage.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes. We take American Express/Visa/Master Card.

Are you full service?
Yes. Outdoor Cookers handles or refers every aspect of Event Planning, from Site Selection to Menu Planning, Staffing, Party Rentals and Tent Arrangements.

Can you suggest Event Site Locations?
Absolutely. Please call for Venue Listings.

You're called Outdoor Cookers, do you only do Barbecues and Clambakes?
When we started the company, those were some our specialties. Over the past 20 years we have grown to include expert service in Formal Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Fund Raisers and all special events. We still enjoy doing an old-fashioned Barbecue, Clambake or Theme Party.

How many staff persons do I need per number of guests?
Generally, we suggest one Service person per 20-25 guests for buffet style, or one service person per 10-15 guests for table service. One Bartender is recommended for 50-75 guests, more with table wine service, and the number of chefs vary depending on the complexity of the menu.

Can you arrange for alcoholic beverages?
We will be happy to suggest alcoholic beverage quantities to you, and arrange a delivery for you from your local liquor store.  You will be billed directly from the store. 

What are Grazing Tables?
These are a variety of buffet food stations where guests can sample different foods and are especially valued for larger groups or rambling spaces.

Do you have references?
We have many excellent references available on request.

Will you come to the party site to review?
Yes. After you have discussed your menu and staff needs with an Event Planner, you will be given a guaranteed verbal quote. If costs are agreeable to you, the Event Planner will schedule a meeting at the party site to discuss the event in full detail. After the meeting you will receive a written proposal for review and comparison.

Are you available seven days a week?
Yes. We are closed for Off-Premise Catering and Pick-ups only on certain Holidays.

Do you charge less for children?
Yes. Children 4 years or less are no charge. Children 5-12 years are a lesser price than adults. Children ages 13 and up are adult price depending on the menu.

We want Outdoor Cookers great food, but don't need any staff for the event, will you do pick-ups?
Yes! Call an Event Planner to create a wonderful menu and to arrange a pick-up time.

What's the largest event you've done?
We have catered an event of between 8000-9000 guests for a private company picnic on an island off New York City.

Will you customize all the details to my event?
Absolutely - Every customer has different ideas/budgets/venues - speak to our Event Planner for your individual needs.
